The experience

The boat leaves from Como's public pier at Sant'Agostino, right in front of the Como Lago train station. From there you pass Daniel Libeskind's "Life Electric" sculpture, then the seaplane hangar, before reaching Villa Olmo: one of the lake's grandest estates, visible from the water. The route continues to Cernobbio, where the legendary Villa d'Este hotel sits on the shore alongside Villa Erba, the exhibition center and former home of filmmaker Luchino Visconti.

Further along you'll pass Moltrasio and the villa that once belonged to Versace, then Laglio, where George Clooney's residence overlooks the water. The eastern shore brings you past Torno and Blevio, both lined with exclusive hotels. You can swim during the cruise: a refreshing break in the middle of the route. Throughout the hour, the boat's large front sundeck and protective awning give you both sun and shade, and a glass of prosecco or a soft drink comes with the booking.
