The experience
The boat leaves Sorrento and heads out across the Gulf of Naples, giving you the panoramic view of the coast from the water before reaching Capri. Once there, you'll tour the island by sea, passing the lighthouse, Italy's second-largest, and pulling up to the White Grotto, where the limestone rock creates a natural cathedral of pale stone. The choice to enter or skip each stop is yours. If the Blue Grotto has a queue of smaller boats at its entrance, you can wait or continue exploring elsewhere on the island.
Marina Piccola, Capri's most exclusive waterfront district, comes into view from the boat, and you can land there if you want to walk through the town center. Between the named stops, you'll have time in the water with snorkeling equipment provided, and the boat carries everything you need: bottled water, beach towels, prosecco, soft drinks, fruit and beer. A restroom is on board for the full seven hours.
The tour operates from either Sorrento or Massa Lubrense depending on which option you choose at checkout. Both departures give you the same route and inclusions. The difference is where you start. Your guide will be live and present throughout, speaking English, Spanish or Italian.

Is this one for you?The private boat means you're not on a schedule with other groups, so you can linger at the White Grotto or Marina Piccola as long as you want, or skip them entirely and spend more time snorkeling in the open water. If the Blue Grotto has a queue, you decide whether the wait is worth it instead of being locked into a group decision.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I enter the Blue Grotto, or do I have to skip it if there's a wait?
The Blue Grotto is Capri's top attraction, but entry depends on the queue of small boats at the cave mouth. Your guide will let you know the wait time when you arrive, and you decide whether to go in or keep exploring the rest of the island by boat.
What's included in the seven-hour tour?
Snorkeling equipment, beach towels, bottled water, prosecco, soft drinks, fruit and beer are all included. You also get a live guide in your chosen language and a restroom on board for the full day.
Do I have to land on Capri, or can I stay on the boat the whole time?
You choose. The boat passes Marina Piccola and the tourist port, where you can disembark for a walk in town, but staying aboard to snorkel and see the grottoes from the water is equally valid.
What's the difference between departing from Sorrento versus Massa Lubrense?
Both options follow the same route around Capri with the same stops and inclusions. The choice is simply where your day starts: Sorrento or Massa Lubrense, depending on which is closer to where you're staying.
Is the White Grotto worth seeing if I'm mainly interested in the Blue Grotto?
The White Grotto is a separate stop earlier in the tour, named for the pale limestone rock that forms it. Since the boat passes it on the way to the Blue Grotto, you'll see it either way. Whether you spend time there is part of your choice about pacing the day.
