The Invictus 280SX is built around comfort and power: a 350-horsepower engine moves the 9.15-meter hull smoothly across the water, while the interior wraps you in wood and leather. Two refrigerators keep drinks cold, and a generous stern platform gives direct access to the lake if you want to swim. A spacious canopy shades the deck, and a changing cabin with toilet means you can move between sun and shelter without leaving the boat.

Frank navigates past the lakeside villas that define Como's shoreline. You'll see Villa Oleandra in Laglio, where George Clooney spends his summers; Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, a 16th-century cardinal's retreat that became a luxury hotel in 1873; Villa Fontanelle, the neoclassical estate Gianni Versace restored and expanded in 1980; and Villa Taverna in Perlasca, built by Count Paolo Taverna in the late 1700s. The Passalacqua Hotel in Moltrasio, recently named the world's best, rises from the water's edge. As you return to the starting pier, the city of Como and the Brunate lighthouse come into view across the water.

The onboard stereo system plays throughout, and an optional circular table at the bow gives you a place to settle. Frank speaks Italian, English and French, so the commentary flows in whichever language suits your group. Bottled water is included. The aperitif is served onboard as part of the experience.
