You meet your guide at Via Cavour, spend time in the Uffizi Gallery with a professional who knows the Renaissance paintings room by room, then walk the Vasari Corridor for 30 minutes with views of Ponte Vecchio and the Arno, exit into the Boboli Gardens, and return along the outside of the Corridor to see its architecture. The whole tour is three hours, groups stay under 25, and you need a valid ID at entry.
"So we're actually going inside the Corridor?" That's the question you'll ask your guide when you meet at Via Cavour 12 black in Florence, because the Vasari Corridor—the private passageway the Medici family used to move unseen through the city—reopened to the public in 2025 after eight years shut down. Most visitors never get in. You will, but not before spending time in the Uffizi Gallery itself, where your licensed guide walks you through rooms of Renaissance paintings: Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo. The guide points out the stories embedded in each canvas—why a face is turned a certain way, what the patron wanted hidden in the background—and suddenly a painting stops being a thing you walk past and becomes a conversation you're part of.
Then comes the Corridor itself. You'll walk for about 30 minutes along the narrow passage that runs from the Uffizi, over the Arno River on Ponte Vecchio, and into the Boboli Gardens on the far side. The guide won't narrate inside—museum rules—but they'll point out the sights as you move: the river below, the Oltrarno district spreading out, the Mannelli Tower that the corridor bends around because the family who owned it refused to let the Medici cut straight through. You exit near the Buontalenti Fountain, a Mannerist sculpture that sits at the edge of the gardens, and then walk back along the outside of the Corridor with your guide, seeing the architecture from the street level and understanding how it was built. The whole experience takes three hours, and you're in a group of no more than 25 people—small enough that you're not shuffling through in a crowd.
Bring a valid ID or passport; the tickets are nominative and the museum checks names at the gate. Earphones are provided so you can hear your guide clearly in the Uffizi, and if the timing shifts slightly from what you booked—it sometimes does because of how tightly the Corridor access is managed—you'll get a message in advance. The entry fee is €47 per person and covers both the Uffizi and the Corridor, which is the only way to see the Corridor right now: you can't walk it without booking a tour.
