The Experience

You start from your accommodation and head into the Isarco Valley, passing through vineyards and stopping at castles and churches that most day-trippers miss. The driver knows where the light hits best for photographs and where to find the local stories that explain what you are looking at.

The route climbs toward Val di Funes, an enclosed valley the description calls enchanted, and you pass San Pietro on the way to Passo delle Erbe. Here you can choose to walk for an hour to a mountain hut under the Sass Putia, or skip it and keep moving. From there, Badia Castle marks the gateway deeper into the range, and the road opens toward the Falzarego Pass. If you are there between May and November, a cable car ride is an option, and the Rifugio Lagazuoi serves a typical mountain lunch. The day ends at Lake Carezza timed to arrive near sunset, when the light turns the water the color the lake is famous for.

The vehicle is air-conditioned and has WiFi on board. Your guide adapts the day to what you want to see and how long you want to linger—this is not a fixed schedule with set stops. Winter weather or road closures for events may shift which passes you take, but the guide will work around it.
