The experience
You start by walking through the vineyard and olive grove to meet the pigs themselves. Ciro, the domestic pig, and his company of Cinta Senese live in the mud and pasture the way the breed has for centuries: semi-wild, fed on carefully selected cereals grown in the Tuscan countryside. You interact with them directly, take photos, and see how they actually live, not how they're penned. After the farm, you visit the small cellar and taste platters of cured meats before sitting down to eat.
Dinner is built from what you just saw: a Tuscan cutting board of Cinta Senese pork cured meats and Pecorino di Pienza cheese with jam and bruschetta; egg tagliatelle with Cinta Senese pork ragout; pork fillet with pink pepper and cream; and cantucci biscuits with Vinsanto wine. Water, house wine, and espresso coffee are included. If the season allows, vegetables and fruit from the farm garden appear on the table too.
The farm is wheelchair accessible, and all areas and surfaces are level. Specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with small children, and service animals are welcome. Your guide is live and speaks either English or Italian.
