Step-by-step itinerary
Cinque Terre boat tour and snorkeling
- Start at Monterosso
- Visit Fegina beach and Giant statue
- Head south to Vernazza village
- Stop at Guvano Bay for swimming and snorkeling
- Enjoy prosecco and Aperol Spritz onboard
- Visit Manarola village
- Admire Cinque Terre bay from the boat
- Return to Monterosso port
The experience
Monterosso is where the boat leaves, heading south along the coast to Fegina beach first, where the Giant statue (a 14-meter concrete and iron sculpture from 1910 depicting Neptune) stands on the shore. From there the route passes Vernazzo, one of the most photographed villages in Cinque Terre, built around the year 1000 on a steep rocky coastline with dry stone walls and vineyards rising behind it.
The main stop is Guvano Bay, a pebble beach with turquoise water where you enter the sea with a mask and float provided on board. After snorkeling, the boat serves prosecco, Aperol Spritz and beer. The return journey includes Manarola, a village of colorful houses perched 70 meters above the water on a rolling landscape of narrow alleys, and Riomaggiore, which dates to the 7th century and sits among Mediterranean vegetation and typical Ligurian-painted houses. On the way back to Monterosso, the boat sails about 500 meters offshore so you can see the whole Cinque Terre bay from the water.
Choose the morning, afternoon or sunset departure depending on the light and crowds you prefer. A live guide in English or Italian narrates the stops and the history of each village.

Is this one for you?The boat does all the traveling between villages, so you spend your energy in the water and on the short walks through each town rather than hiking the coastal paths. Pick the sunset departure if you want the villages lit in golden hour and fewer crowds on the boat.
