The experience
The tour starts at the Missanega farmhouse with a briefing before your guide leads you onto the wine trail itself. You'll cycle past the Monterosso sanctuary (a place of worship that also opens onto a panoramic view of the villages below), and then follow the coast, riding alongside Mediterranean flowers and fragrant scrub with a top-down view of all five villages, their vineyards, olive groves and sea-facing terraces. The e-bikes handle the terrain. The guide handles the story of how Cinque Terre wine is made and why these villages took root in the green.
The ride ends back at the farm with an aperitif on the terrace. You'll taste Cinque Terre wine, cold cuts and cheeses from Val di Vara, focaccia, pesto, oil and honey all produced locally. The flavors are traditional and the setting overlooks the sea. The farm has a private toilet. If you don't have a car, a shuttle can pick you up for an extra fee.
