Cinque Terre Private Boat Tour: Snorkel & Wine
Five villages, three hours, snorkeling and prosecco on the water
A private boat tour along the Cinque Terre coast visits all five villages of the National Marine Park, with time for snorkeling in protected coves, an aperitif with local products and prosecco on board, and photo stops at Vernazzo, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. The tour departs from either Monterosso or Levanto and includes snorkeling gear, soft drinks and a freshwater shower.
Step-by-step itinerary
Cinque Terre private boat tour
- Set sail from Monterosso or Levanto
- Admire five villages from the sea
- Taste chilled white wine and local products
- Swim and snorkel in crystal clear waters
- Stop in front of Vernazza for photos
- Stop in front of Corniglia for photos
- Stop in front of Manarola for photos
- Stop in front of Riomaggiore for photos
- Optional visit to one Cinque Terre village
The Experience
The boat leaves from either Monterosso or Levanto and sails the length of the Cinque Terre coast, so you see all five villages from the water instead of hiking between them or catching trains. The guide points out the history and geography of each one—Vernazzo's harbor, Corniglia perched on the cliff, Manarola's stacked houses, Riomaggiore at the end—while you photograph them from angles the land trails don't offer. The five villages are part of a National Marine Park, which is why the water stays clear enough to see into it.
You stop at two or three coves for snorkeling, and the gear is on board—mask, fins, snorkel included. The water is cold enough that it stays that way year-round, which is also why it stays clean. Between swims you get an aperitif with local products and a glass of prosecco, soft drinks if you prefer, and there's a freshwater shower on board to rinse off the salt. The whole thing runs three hours, so it fits into a morning or an afternoon without eating the whole day.
If you want to walk one of the villages instead of just seeing it from the boat, you can ask the crew to stop and you can go ashore—that's on request, so mention it when you book or when you arrive. The tour runs every day, and the guide speaks English and Italian.

Can I actually swim and snorkel on this tour, or is it mostly looking from the boat?
You stop at protected coves inside the National Marine Park for swimming and snorkeling, and the snorkeling gear is included. The boat anchors while you're in the water, so it's not a drive-by.
Do I have to visit one of the five villages, or can I stay on the boat the whole time?
You see all five villages from the water as the boat sails past. If you want to walk through one of them—Vernazzo, Corniglia, Manarola or Riomaggiore—you can ask the crew to stop and go ashore, but it's optional and arranged when you book or arrive.
What's included in the price, and what do I need to bring?
The tour includes snorkeling equipment, prosecco and soft drinks, an aperitif with local products, a freshwater shower on board and restroom access. Bring a towel, sunscreen and a swimsuit; the water is cold year-round.
Does the tour depart from Cinque Terre itself, or from somewhere else?
The boat departs from either Monterosso or Levanto, both on the Cinque Terre coast. You choose which one when you book, depending on where you're staying or which end of the coast is easier for you to reach.
How long is the tour, and what time does it start?
The tour runs three hours. The boat sets sail every day; contact the operator directly through their website for specific departure times and to confirm availability on your date.
