The Experience

The boat leaves Sorrento port and hugs the coast past Marina Grande, the fishing village painted in warm colors, then passes the Baths of Queen Giovanna, a Roman villa ruin from the first century. Once at Capri, you're free to shape the rest of the day. The skipper knows the caves, the rock formations and the spots where the water runs clearest, but you choose which ones matter and how long to stay.

Swimming stops are built in, and you can enter the White Grotto to see stalactites and stalagmites, or drift through the Green Grotto's luminous water. The Faraglioni rocks—three massive stone pillars rising from the sea—are the island's most photographed landmark, and you'll have time to circle them and shoot. A professional English-speaking skipper is on board the whole time, along with complimentary drinks, prosecco, snacks and beach towels. Life jackets and masks are provided.

If you want to dock and explore Capri's town center or eat lunch at a seaside restaurant, you can arrange that with the captain—docking at Marina Grande costs €100 if you want to go ashore, but eating at a waterfront restaurant avoids the fee. The Blue Grotto, the island's most famous sea cave, is available on request and requires a separate entrance ticket paid on site. The return to Sorrento port is built into the schedule, so you're back with time to spare.
