You'll stop at Meta di Sorrento, a viewpoint 111 meters above sea level where the coast opens up (Capri, the turquoise water, and the green hills all visible at once) before heading into Positano itself. The town is built vertically into the cliffs, colorful houses stacked on steep steps that lead down to the beach, and you have time to walk the narrow alleys and look at the shops and restaurants tucked into the architecture.

From Positano the route continues to Sorrento, where the tour focuses on the historic center: the Cathedral, the Baroque churches, and the Cloister of San Francesco. Sorrento sits on a peninsula with its own views back toward Capri and the coast, and the town is known for limoncello, the local lemon liqueur you can taste while you're there. The Li Galli islands (a three-island archipelago between Capri and Positano) are visible from the route, though the tour itself does not land on them.

The final stop is Pompeii, the Roman city buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD. What you see are the streets, buildings, frescoes, and mosaics preserved under the ash and lava for nearly two thousand years. If your group has 12 or more people, a licensed guide walks the site with you. Groups of eight or fewer get an audio guide instead. Either way, the archaeological park is included in the tour price. Transport between all three towns is in an air-conditioned vehicle, and parking fees are covered. Lunch is not included, so you'll eat in Positano or Sorrento on your own.
