The route itself is the point: every curve reveals a different angle of the coastline, and the drive between towns is part of what you came for.

Positano arrives first, a vertical village of pastel houses stacked down toward the sea. You have free time to walk its narrow alleys, browse the artisan fashion boutiques, or sit by the water with a drink. The cobblestones and steep streets mean you'll be on foot, and the descent to the waterfront involves stairs, but there's no fixed itinerary. You move at your own pace. From there, the van climbs back to the main road and heads to Amalfi, the historic maritime center of the coast.
