The experience

The tour starts with your guide leading you to Piticchio, a small castle where you'll walk the narrow alleys and take in views across the surrounding valleys. From there the route heads toward Palazzo, tucked into the dense woods of Mount Caudino: a place where the pace slows and the landscape closes in around you. The final stop is Loretello, the oldest of the three and a textbook example of medieval defensive architecture in the region. Between castles you ride across scenic roads that make up the backbone of the day.

You'll be on your own Vespa (or sharing one with a passenger) for the entire three hours, which includes both riding time and the time spent walking each castle. The guide handles navigation and timing. You handle the throttle. Road assistance and third-party insurance come with the rental, along with your helmet and a full tank of fuel. A €500 deposit via credit card secures the Vespa and gets released at the end of the tour if there are no reported damages.
