You receive a year-valid certification that qualifies you for the next level Open Water course. The experience

What does it take to go diving? The course walks you through it in stages: registration, theory with an instructor, a pool dive to practice the basics, then a real open water dive in the Red Sea. The whole sequence fits into one morning and early afternoon. By the end you hold a PADI Discover Scuba certificate that proves you've trained in a professional club and are ready for deeper dives later.

The gear is provided (tank, regulator, wetsuit and booties), so you show up ready to focus on learning. The instructor teaches in your language (English, Arabic, Russian or Hebrew) and stays with you through both the pool session and the open water dive. The maximum depth on your first open water dive is 12 meters, which is deep enough to see the reef structure and marine life without the pressure of going deeper than your training allows.

If you decide diving is for you and want to go further, this certificate cuts the time on the next course: the five-day Open Water certification can be finished in four days, which also brings a discount on the course fee. Public transportation options are available near the dive center, so you don't need your own transport to get there.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English, Arabic, Russian and Hebrew.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Infant (12 to 15 years). Children under 12 can't be included in the booking.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

Can I dive in Eilat if I've never done it before?

Yes, the Discover Scuba course is designed for people with no diving experience. You learn theory, practice in the pool, and then dive in the Red Sea with an instructor guiding you the whole way. No prior certification is needed.

What's the difference between this one-day course and the full Open Water certification?

Discover Scuba gives you a year-valid certificate and teaches you the fundamentals in a single day. Open Water is a five-day course that goes deeper into skills and theory, and the certification lasts longer. If you complete Discover Scuba, you can finish Open Water in four days instead of five, with a course discount.

What equipment do I need to bring?

You don't bring diving gear. The course provides the tank, regulator, wetsuit and booties. Bring a swimsuit, towel and any personal items you need. The dive center supplies everything else.

How deep will I dive on my first open water dive?

Your maximum depth is 12 meters on the open water portion of the course. That's deep enough to see the reef and marine life while staying within the limits of your training.

Is there an age limit for this course?

Children are welcome from age 12. There are some health conditions that make diving inadvisable (breathing problems, heart disease, ear issues, diabetes and others), so check with the dive center if you have any concerns before booking.
