The experience

This is not a sightseeing tour where you stop and listen. You're running the city. You start at your hotel, and from there the route is yours to shape. Your guide runs alongside, speaking English, and you move at whatever pace feels right: fast enough to get a real workout, slow enough to actually notice the neighborhoods you're passing through. The whole thing takes anywhere from 40 minutes to 3 hours, so you're not locked into someone else's schedule.

The route moves through downtown Jerusalem first, where the modern city is already stirring, then heads toward the Old City. You'll run past the Western Wall, the holiest site in Judaism, and feel the shift in atmosphere as the ancient stone comes into view. From there you push into Mahane Yehuda Market, a sprawling bazaar with over 250 vendors selling fruit, spices, clothing and Judaica: the sounds and smells hit differently when you're moving through on foot rather than standing still. Jaffa Street comes next, one of the main arteries of the city, and then you loop back to your hotel.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are built in, so there's no figuring out how to get to the starting point. You get bottled water during the run and a video of the best moments afterward: the operator shoots photos and video the whole time and sends them to you.
