The experience

The tour runs twelve hours and covers four major Christian sites across northern Israel. You start in Nazareth at the Basilica of the Annunciation, then move to Capernaum, an ancient city in ruins at the foot of the Mount of Beatitudes with views across the Sea of Galilee. From there you travel to Tabgha to see the Church of the Multiplication and its mosaics, and finish at Yardenit on the southern tip of the Sea of Galilee, the traditional baptism site. Transportation between each stop is included, and your guide is an expert in the region's biblical and historical significance.

The route works from either Tel Aviv or Jerusalem depending on which you choose at checkout. You'll need cash on hand for Capernaum's admission (10 ILS, paid on site). If you want to be baptized in the Jordan River at Yardenit, arrange that directly with the site in advance. A baptismal robe rental is available for $20 if you need it. The site sometimes closes on certain days, in which case the operator substitutes an alternative location nearby on the Jordan River. The estimated time at Yardenit is midday, so plan accordingly if you have evening plans.

Infants and small children can travel in a pram or stroller, and infants must sit on an adult's lap. The tour suits all fitness levels. Public transportation options are available near the meeting point if you prefer not to use the included transport.
