The experience

The first thing I noticed was the way the old stone bridge looked in the morning. Just like in The Quiet Man, but quieter than I expected. There was a bit of drizzle, that soft Irish kind that doesn’t soak you but somehow gets everywhere. I tried to picture it all happening here (harder than I thought, honestly), but Pat had this way of filling in the gaps.

We wandered from spot to spot around Cong, barely more than a few minutes between stops.
