The experience
Besakih Mother Temple opens the day: the largest and holiest temple in Bali, made up of 86 separate temples that sprawl across the grounds. Your guide will walk you through the layout and explain what you're seeing as you move between shrines. From there you head to Gunung Kawi Sebatu Water Temple, built on a natural spring and ringed with ponds and pools. A statue of Sarasvati, the goddess of knowledge, art and music, sits in the centre of the main lake, and the walled bathing pools behind it are surrounded by shrines. The temple is quieter than the major sites, which is part of why it's considered one of the most peaceful sanctuaries in the area.
Mid-afternoon you swing on the Jungle Swing: a wooden bench suspended over the jungle canopy where you're harnessed in and pushed out for the kind of photo that reads well on a phone. It's the one moment in the day built entirely around the shot, and it delivers. After that comes Tibumana Waterfall, a cascade that stays relatively quiet because few people outside Ubud know it's there. You'll walk down to it and have time to stand in front of it before the drive back to your hotel begins.
The tour includes private transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking driver and guide, lunch (served at 1 PM), bottled water throughout the day, and all entrance fees and taxes. You're picked up from your hotel at 7 AM (the exact time depends on where you're staying), and dropped back by around 6:30 PM. Nothing else needs arranging.

Is this one for you?Hotel pickup means you don't need a car or arrange your own transport to Ubud's main sites. The guide handles the route and timing, and you're back by evening. This works best if you're staying in or near Ubud and want a full day of temples, water, and a swing without planning the stops yourself.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 9 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What is Besakih Mother Temple like when you get there?
Besakih is Bali's largest and holiest temple, made up of 86 separate temples spread across the grounds. Your guide walks you through the layout and explains the shrines as you explore. The scale and number of structures make it feel like a temple complex rather than a single site.
Is the Jungle Swing safe, and what exactly do you do on it?
The Jungle Swing is a wooden bench suspended over the jungle where you sit and get harnessed in before being pushed out. The harness keeps you secure, and the whole point is the photo. It's the moment in the day built around getting that shot.
How much walking is involved in this tour?
You walk through the temple grounds at Besakih and Gunung Kawi Sebatu, and you walk down to Tibumana Waterfall. The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels, though the temple sites involve stairs and uneven ground in places.
What time does the tour pick you up and drop you back?
Pickup is at 7 AM from your hotel (the exact time may vary depending on your location), and you return by around 6:30 PM. The full tour runs approximately 10 hours.
Do you need to book the Jungle Swing separately, or is it part of the tour?
The Jungle Swing is included in the tour itinerary. All entrance fees and swing access are covered in the all-inclusive price.
