Ubud: Instagram Photo Tour with Local Photographer & Swings
Ubud’s playful swings, lush rice terraces and candid moments
You’ll swing above Ubud’s jungle with a local photographer guiding your poses (and nerves), taste fresh Balinese coffee overlooking green valleys, then wander through Tegalalang Rice Terrace while someone else captures all those unguarded moments you usually miss. You’ll leave with edited photos—and probably a new favorite tea or two.

The Experience
The first thing I remember is the way the swing ropes felt in my hands—kind of rough, but solid. Our photographer, Kadek, grinned and told me not to look down (so of course I did). The jungle below was this wild tangle of green, and there was a breeze that kept making my hair stick to my lip gloss. I tried to smile anyway—Kadek kept saying, “Just relax, Bali is easy,” which made me laugh even more.
I didn’t expect the bird nest thing to be so… well, big. It looked like something out of a fairytale or maybe a giant’s backyard. Kadek helped me climb in (graceful isn’t really my thing) and snapped away while I tried to look casual. He showed us some tricks for posing—not stiff, just little movements—and somehow managed to catch those quick moments when we weren’t overthinking it. He’d lived here his whole life, knew everyone by name; a couple of locals waved as they walked past with baskets balanced on their heads.
We stopped for coffee at this spot overlooking the jungle—honestly, I’m not much of a coffee person but the ginger tea was spicy and sweet at the same time. They let us taste everything—coconut coffee, some weirdly smoky one I can’t remember the name of. The air smelled like wet earth after rain even though it hadn’t rained yet. Kadek explained how they roast the beans; he laughed when I tried to say “kopi luwak” properly (I definitely butchered it).
Tegallalang Rice Terrace was our last stop. It’s quieter than you’d think except for birds and someone playing gamelan somewhere far off. The light hit the terraces just right—it almost glowed—and I caught myself staring instead of posing for photos. We got our pictures sent later that night; looking at them now makes me want to go back, honestly.
