The experience

The day starts with a 45-minute speedboat ride from Matahari Terlit harbour to Nusa Penida, where a driver meets you at the ferry drop-off. Your first stop is Kelingking Beach, where a Tyrannosaurus Rex-shaped rock formation juts into the water above a white sand cove. You'll stand on the cliff edge to take in the view. From there, the boat moves to Broken Beach, a naturally enclosed lagoon ringed by towering cliffs where you can sip a coconut at a local stall and watch the water drift in from the open ocean beyond.

Angel's Billabong comes next: a clear natural pool framed by jagged volcanic rocks where you can see the rock formations on the pool floor. The final stop is Crystal Bay, where a healthy coral reef sits close to shore. Snorkeling gear is available to rent here, and you're free to swim and dive in the temperate water or rest under a coconut tree at one of the local warung shops selling snacks and cold drinks. The whole day runs about ten hours from pickup to drop-off.

Entrance fees to all four sites, a soft drink, mineral water, roundtrip speedboat transport, and an English-speaking guide are included. Lunch is included in the private option and in one of the group options. The other group option lets you choose where to eat. Hotel pickup and drop-off are optional add-ons for the group tour, or included in the private option.
