The experience
Your day starts with pickup from your hotel and a drive to Lempuyang Temple, where you'll photograph the iconic Gates of Heaven framing Mount Agung, Bali's highest volcano. From there you head to Padang Bai's two snorkeling sites. The Blue Lagoon has a sandy bottom and is known for macro underwater photography. The water is clear enough year-round to spot cattle fish, angelfish, cow fish and moray eels moving through the coral. Tanjung Jepun, the second site, sits just offshore and offers the same reef ecosystem in a different section of the bay.
A professional local snorkeling instructor meets you at the water and leads both sessions. All equipment (mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit if needed) is provided, and a traditional boat transfers you between the two spots. The sandy bottom means easier entry and exit than rocky reefs, and the shallow depth makes it accessible whether you're a first-timer or returning to the water after years away. Bottle of water is on hand between sites.
After snorkeling, you'll have lunch at Topi Inn restaurant in Padang Bai: Indonesian food, included in the price. Your English-speaking driver then takes you back to your hotel. The whole day runs eight to ten hours from pickup to drop-off.

Is this one for you?The eight- to ten-hour commitment means you'll need most of your day, but it leaves room for an early breakfast or a late dinner elsewhere. If you're arriving mid-morning or have a flight in the evening, this full itinerary may not fit. A shorter snorkeling-only activity would work better for a tight schedule.
