The Experience

The boat leaves Banyuwedang Harbor at 9am for a 30-minute ride to Menjangan Island. You'll spend roughly an hour at the first snorkeling site, where the coral walls drop off and tropical fish move through the shallows—the guide picks the spots based on that day's weather and sea state, so you get the calmest conditions and best visibility. After the first dive, you beach on white sand for lunch and a break; this is when wild deer often come down to the shore, making it worth keeping your camera ready between bites.

The second snorkeling session explores a different reef location with its own marine life, another hour in the water. The boat heads back to Banyuwedang Harbor by 1:30pm, and from there you're transferred to your hotel.
