Step-by-step itinerary
Quad biking and coffee plantation visit
- Meet guide and safety briefing
- Ride quad bike through jungle and rice fields
- Visit Temen village coffee plantation
- Learn about coffee process and sample varieties
The experience
You meet your guide and get a safety briefing before climbing onto a semi-automatic 250cc quad bike. The bike handles the gear shifts for you, so you focus on steering through the terrain. Then you spend about three hours riding through native bush, jungle, plantations and rice fields with sweeping views of the countryside. The route winds through working agricultural land, not a closed track, so you're moving through the actual landscape where people live and farm.
After the riding portion, you head to the village of Temen to visit a coffee plantation. A guide walks you through how the coffee is made from bean to cup, and you taste several varieties. If available that day, you'll also sample luwak coffee: one of the world's most expensive coffees, made from beans collected after they've been eaten and digested by wild civets. Lunch is included, and you return to your hotel by the end of the five-hour activity.
What’s included
- Hotel pickup and drop-off.
- lunch.

- a live English-speaking guide throughout the activity.

Top questions
What's the quad bike like to ride if I've never done it before?
The bike is semi-automatic with a 250cc engine, meaning it handles gear shifts for you so you only steer and control the throttle and brakes. A safety briefing before you start covers the basics, and the guide leads the way through the route.
How much of the five hours is actually riding versus stops?
You spend about three hours on the quad bike itself, winding through jungle, plantations and rice fields. The remaining time covers the safety briefing, the coffee plantation visit and tasting, and lunch.
What is luwak coffee and why is it so expensive?
Luwak coffee comes from beans eaten by wild civets, then collected after digestion. The fermentation process inside the animal changes the bean's flavor, and the rarity and labor-intensive collection make it one of the world's most expensive coffees. You'll taste it at the plantation if it's available on your visit day.
What should I wear and bring for the ride?
Wear sport shoes and comfortable clothes. Bring sunscreen. The operator provides branded international standard safety equipment, so you don't need to bring a helmet or protective gear.
Is there a minimum age or fitness requirement?
You must be at least 16 years old and have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. The activity is not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with spinal injuries.
Does the price include everything, or are there extras to pay?
Hotel pickup and drop-off, lunch, safety equipment, insurance and the quad bike tour are all included. Alcoholic drinks, souvenir photos and a DVD of your ride are available to purchase separately.
