The experience

Vartika Singh teaches from her home kitchen in Jodhpur, where she's run the class for years alongside her family's guest house and restaurant. She learned to cook as a child in her mother's kitchen and worked as a lecturer before moving to Rajasthan after marriage in 2014. The class covers nine dishes across the menu, starting with basics like masala tea and moving through paneer and chicken curries, fried vegetables, lentils, rice and roti. You'll pick up the techniques and tricks she uses to build flavor and keep food healthy, then sit down to eat the dishes you've made.

The class runs two hours and includes pickup from your hotel. If you book an afternoon slot, lunch is part of the experience. An evening class includes dinner. Bottled water, tea and coffee are provided. The instructor speaks English and Hindi, so language won't be a barrier. Children from age one are welcome, and public transportation options are nearby if you prefer to make your own way.
