The tour starts with pickup from your Jodhpur hotel (or from the operator's office if your hotel sits on a street too narrow for a car). Your English-speaking guide meets you and heads into the Blue City on foot. The walk covers two hours and moves through the winding streets and narrow lanes where the blue-painted houses cluster together, the markets stay busy, and the havelis, traditional mansions, line the older quarters. You pass through these lanes at a pace that lets you stop and talk with locals, and the guide fills in the stories and history that the place itself does not announce.

Ranisar Lake sits inside the city wall and dates back centuries: one of several ancient water bodies you can reach on this walk. The blue paint that gives the district its name started as a practical choice (it kept the heat down) and became the visual signature of the neighborhood. Walking through it, you see how the color connects the old temples, the residential streets and the market areas into one coherent place.
