Fort Kochi's history sits in layers (Portuguese, Dutch, Chinese, Jewish), and a private tuk-tuk lets you move between them without arranging transport or waiting for a group. The Paradesi Synagogue, constructed in 1568, is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth and the center of Kochi's Jewish community.
