You arrive on the island with a free afternoon or a port day and no rental car. A private driver meets you and spends the next several hours taking you where you want to go. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and the guide narrates as you drive, pointing out what's available at each stop and what costs extra. You're not waiting for a group to gather or watching the clock for a ship departure: the day moves at your pace, and you decide when to linger or move on.

The standard route covers The Roatan Chocolate Factory, where you taste organica chocolate samples and see how it's made from bean to bar; The Roatan Rum Company, with rum tasting and rum cake samples; the Lookout point at Spanish Town for coastal views; a tour through West End and West Bay; and stops at the Roatan Sign and Macaw Market for souvenir shopping. Your guide will also tell you what else is available if you want to add activities like snorkeling or horseback riding. Those cost extra and are arranged on the spot. If you'd rather skip the suggested stops and head somewhere else, you can plan your own itinerary and let the driver know.

The driver prioritizes safety and comfort, so you can sit back and take in the island without navigating unfamiliar roads yourself. Infants travel on an adult's lap. Lunch and drinks are not included, so plan to eat at one of the stops or bring your own.
