The experience
How do you actually learn to cook Greek food? By standing at the stove in Koukaki, a neighborhood near the Acropolis, and making it yourself. The class keeps groups to a maximum of ten so everyone gets hands-on time, not just a seat to watch. After a short introduction, you split into two teams and work through the dishes step by step: moussaka with cashew béchamel, spanakopita, fava with caramelized onions, dakos with homemade almond feta, koulouri sesame rings, tzatziki and an ekmek dessert. The instructor guides each team through the techniques.
You eat everything you cook at the end of the class, paired with wine, beer and water. Before you leave, you get a digital recipe book in English so you can recreate the dishes at home. The whole thing takes 3.5 hours. Private lessons are available if you want to book the class just for your group. The cost depends on how many people attend.
