The Experience

The day starts with hotel pickup at 8:30 am in an air-conditioned vehicle, then you board at Mandraki Harbour by 9 am. From there, the boat heads to Ladiko Bay first — a shallow natural pool with sand, pebbles and rocky outcrops where you can wade in and start snorkeling without a long swim. The water runs about four meters deep, and the bay is ringed with trees that slope down to the shore.

Anthony Quinn Bay comes next, the small beach where "The Guns of Navarone" was filmed. The rocks frame clear water full of fish, and lunch happens here — roasted chicken, Greek salad and bread, with vegetarian meals available if you request them. Most groups stay longer at this bay than planned because the snorkeling is that good, so the skipper builds in flexibility; if your group wants to move on, Kallithea Bay is the final stop. The thermal springs there stopped running in the early 20th century, but the bay itself is thick with marine life and scattered small organized beaches sit among the rocks. You're back at Mandraki by 4 pm and dropped at your hotel by 4:30 pm.
