You paddle out from a catamaran and the water is clear enough to see the bottom.

This six-hour catamaran cruise from Rhodes takes you snorkeling at three bays — Anthony Quinn Bay with its emerald waters, Ladiko Bay and Kallithea Springs — with snorkeling equipment, paddle boards, lunch and drinks on board. You swim and paddle at each stop, or stay on deck; life jackets and floating noodles are provided. An audio guide in English narrates the route.

Step-by-step itinerary

Catamaran cruise to scenic bays

  • Set sail from Rhodes
  • Visit Anthony Quinn Bay
  • Relax and swim at Ladiko Bay
  • Enjoy Greek lunch and drinks on board
  • Snorkel at Kallithea Springs
  • Use paddle board or unwind on deck

The Experience

The boat leaves from Rhodes and heads to Anthony Quinn Bay first, where the water turns emerald because of the vegetation on the cliffs above it. This is the bay where "The Guns of Navarone" was filmed, and the actor Anthony Quinn loved it so much his name stuck. You get in the water with snorkeling gear or paddle out on a board — both are included and waiting for you. The bay is shallow enough that you can see straight down.

Ladiko Bay comes next, a smaller beach tucked into the coast where the pace slows. Then the catamaran moves to Kallithea Springs, which has Vatican-style stone structures on the shore and is known for snorkeling because the water stays clear and deep. You can spend as much time in the water as you want at each stop, or stay on the boat. Lunch and drinks are served on board between stops — Greek food, snacks and refills throughout the day. Infants can come if they sit on an adult's lap.

The whole day runs six hours. Life jackets are there if you need one, and floating pool noodles are on board. You don't need to bring your own snorkeling gear or paddle board — everything is set up and waiting. An audio guide in English walks you through what you're seeing as the boat moves between bays.

Top questions

What is Anthony Quinn Bay actually like for snorkeling?

Anthony Quinn Bay has emerald-colored water because of the lush vegetation on the surrounding cliffs, and it's shallow enough that you can see the bottom clearly while snorkeling. The bay gained fame from the film "The Guns of Navarone," which was partially filmed there.

Do I need to know how to snorkel before I book this?

No — the catamaran is suitable for all physical fitness levels, and snorkeling equipment is included and set up for you. Life jackets and floating pool noodles are also on board if you want them in the water.

What happens if I don't want to snorkel or paddle board?

You can stay on deck the whole time and watch the coastline, the other swimmers and the three bays pass by. Lunch and drinks are served on board either way, and you're welcome to relax under the sun instead of getting in the water.

Is the paddle board experience difficult?

Paddle boards are included and available at each bay — you can try them or skip them. The catamaran stays in calm, shallow water at the stops, so it's a gentle introduction if you've never paddled before.

What's included in the lunch and drinks?

Greek lunch and snacks are served on board, along with refreshing drinks throughout the six-hour cruise. The meals are eaten between snorkeling stops while you're on the catamaran.

How do I get to the catamaran from my hotel?

Public transportation options are available near the departure point in Rhodes. You'll need to arrange your own way to the boat, or ask your hotel for directions to the nearest bus stop or taxi stand.
