The experience
The tour starts from your cruise ship or hotel and heads straight to Mandraki Old Harbor, where the Colossus of Rhodes once stood: one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Two bronze deer stand atop tall columns at the harbor entrance, a characteristic landmark of the island. From there you drive to the Acropolis of Rhodes at Monte Smith, stopping at a vantage point to see the Temple of Apollo and the Ancient Stadium without climbing. On the way you pass the point where the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea meet.
The route then heads 32 miles southeast to Lindos. You stop at scenic viewpoints rather than entering the village itself. A panoramic vantage point lets you photograph the white village and its acropolis overlooking the beach without the walk. On the way, you pass Tsambika Beach and can choose a brief stop at a traditional pottery workshop to watch a potter at the wheel and learn about the Pythagorean cup. If crowds make Anthony Quinn Bay inaccessible on the day, your driver will substitute a photo stop at Kallithea Viewpoint instead, keeping the tour on schedule.
You stop at St. Paul's Bay, where the apostle is said to have landed in 51 AD, and can see the cave used in filming "The Guns of Navarone." On the return, you pass through Haraki seaside village: a good place to stop for lunch or a snack at your own expense, with fresh seafood and Greek cuisine right on the water. The final stretch back to Rhodes Town runs along the coastal road through Faliraki and Kallithea, where scenes from "Escape to Athena" and "The Guns of Navarone" were filmed. The driver will return you to the ship or your hotel, or drop you in the Old City for independent browsing.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How much walking is actually involved in this tour?
The tour is built around minimal walking. At each stop: Mandraki Old Harbor, the Acropolis of Rhodes, Lindos, and St. Paul's Bay. You need only a few steps or no steps at all to reach the viewpoint or landmark. The driver positions the car as close as possible to each sight so you can see it without fatigue.
What is St. Paul's Bay and why is it on the tour?
St. Paul's Bay is a coastal site on the southeast coast of Rhodes where the apostle Paul is said to have landed in 51 AD to preach Christianity to the Rhodians. From the bay you can also see the cave where scenes from "The Guns of Navarone" were filmed, making it a stop that combines history and film location interest.
Can I change the itinerary or add time to a stop on the day?
Yes. The tour is 100% flexible. You can ask your driver to extend time at any stop (for example, lingering longer at Haraki seaside village for lunch), and adjust the route on the go. Any extension beyond the standard five hours comes with an additional cost.
What happens if Anthony Quinn Bay is too crowded to visit?
On very busy days, Anthony Quinn Bay can become so crowded that vehicles cannot access or exit safely. When this happens, your driver will replace it with a photo stop at Kallithea Viewpoint on the return journey, keeping the tour on schedule and protecting the overall quality of your day.
Is there a pottery workshop stop, and is it included?
On the way to Lindos, you can choose an optional stop at a traditional pottery workshop where you watch a potter work at the wheel and learn about the Pythagorean cup. This stop is optional and requires only a few steps to view the workshop.
