The Experience
The tour starts in the medieval old town, where you walk through the D'Amboise Gate into the fortified streets the Knights of St. John once ruled. You'll see the Palace of the Grand Master and the cobblestone Street of the Knights — the medieval layout is still intact, and the driver provides the history as you move through it. From there you head to Mandraki, the historic harbor where the Colossus of Rhodes once stood, and stop at the Annunciation Church with its frescoes before climbing to Mount Smith on the windward coast. The Acropolis of Rhodes sits at the top, and the views back across the city and coast are the reason people stop here to photograph.
After Mount Smith, you have the afternoon free at a beach. Kallithea Springs, with its Art Deco spa complex and gardens, draws snorkelers and divers. Faliraki offers three miles of white sand and water sports. Anthony Quinn Bay, the cove made famous by the actor, is smaller and quieter — you pick which one suits the day. The driver knows all three and can advise, but the choice is yours.
Transport is a private air-conditioned Mercedes with WiFi and water on board. The driver speaks English fluently and knows Rhodian history in detail. Pickup is included, and the tour works for families with children, people using wheelchairs, and anyone who wants to move at a relaxed pace without rushing between sites.

What is the medieval old town of Rhodes actually like to walk through?
The old town is a fortified city built by the Knights of St. John, entered through the D'Amboise Gate. You walk the cobblestone Street of the Knights and see the Palace of the Grand Master — the medieval layout survives intact, and the driver explains the history as you move through the streets.
Can I swim and spend time at the beach, or is it just a quick stop?
You choose your beach and have the rest of the afternoon free there. Kallithea Springs, Faliraki and Anthony Quinn Bay are all options — the driver can advise, but the time is yours to swim, relax or explore.
What are the views like from Mount Smith?
Mount Smith sits on the windward coast and looks back across Rhodes city and the surrounding coast. The Acropolis of Rhodes is at the top, and it's the main photo stop on the tour.
Is this tour suitable for families with young children?
Yes. Infants and small children can travel in a pram or stroller, and the tour is suitable for all fitness levels. The pace is relaxed — you're not rushing between sites, and the afternoon beach time gives families space to settle in one place.
Does the price include lunch?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. You can eat at your chosen beach or in the old town, and the driver can recommend places.
Is Kallithea Springs included in the tour, or do I pay extra?
Kallithea Springs is one of three beach options you can choose for your free afternoon — it's not a guided stop on the tour itself. If you pick Kallithea, you arrive there and have the afternoon to explore the springs and gardens on your own.
