The experience

The tour runs 3 to 4 hours and starts with Mykonos Town, where Matogianni Street cuts through the heart of Chora. From there, you'll see the Church of Panagia Paraportiani, built centuries ago to serve the local Orthodox community and rebuilt many times after fires and earthquakes. Little Venice comes next: a row of 18th-century merchant and captain houses that overhang the sea and gave the waterfront its name. The Windmills, built to grind agricultural goods for export, stand nearby and make for strong photos.

The driver takes you to Armenistis Lighthouse, built in 1891 on a high point with views that reach across the island. You'll drive past Panormos, Agios Sostis and Ftelia beaches, then stop longer in Ano Mera, the traditional village inland, where the Monastery of Tourliani sits in the main square surrounded by local tavernas and shops. On the way back, you'll see Kalafatis beach and Kalo Livadi, one of the most popular stretches on the island. The tour ends at a panoramic viewpoint locals use, high enough to frame the whole town below.
