Paragliding in Crete: 15-minute flight with instructor
Strap in and lift off over Crete's coast and peaks
Paragliding in Crete is a 15-minute tandem flight where you fly alongside a professional instructor over the island's coastline and mountains. You wear a helmet with intercom, sit in a secure chair, and take in the view from above while the instructor handles the flight. Children from age 10 are welcome, and the activity is wheelchair accessible on the ground.
The experience
The flight lasts 15 minutes and covers the stretch from the coastline inland toward the mountains. You're harnessed into a chair with a protective belt, wearing a helmet fitted with an intercom so you can hear the instructor throughout. The intercom lets you ask questions or just listen as you rise and drift over the island. A kiosk serves as the base where you suit up before takeoff and land after the flight.
The instructor flies the paraglider while you sit secured beside them, so there's no equipment to operate on your end. The view shifts as you climb: the water below gives way to the terrain inland, and the scale of what you're seeing changes with the altitude. This is not a self-guided activity. The professional handles every part of the flight, and you experience it from the passenger seat.
