The experience
You board the catamaran in the morning and spend the next nine to ten hours moving between six swimming stops that exist only by water. The boat passes Cape Vani, where manganese mines opened in 1898 and their ruins still mark the cliffs, then anchors at a turquoise bay ringed by green rock where you eat homemade breakfast before the first swim. Sykia Cave, the largest on the island, has no roof, so sunlight floods the emerald water and turns the stone walls into a shifting palette of color. The boat stops at the entrance for photos, then moves on to the next anchorage.
Kleftiko is the old pirate bay, a maze of white volcanic caves carved into a cliff face, and the water there shifts between crystal green and deep blue depending on the light and the depth. You swim and snorkel among the sea caves. The crew hands out snorkeling gear and paddle boards for anyone who wants them. Gerakas is a sandy beach hemmed by geological formations, famous for its hot spring. You can float in warm water while the crew sets up the Greek BBQ on deck, and you eat lunch with the beach and the turquoise water in front of you. The last stop is the Blue Lagoon on Poliegos, an uninhabited island, where a narrow bay with white sand and steep white rocks holds water so transparent it looks unreal.
The boat carries snorkeling equipment, SUP boards, swimming noodles and a GoPro camera for anyone who wants footage of the day. Breakfast is homemade. Lunch is a full Greek menu prepared on board with a vegetarian or vegan option if you request it ahead of time. Drinks run to white wine, beer, juice, water and soft drinks. The crew speaks English and fills the gaps between stops with the island's history: the old sulfur mines at Theiorychia, the fishing village of Klima with its colorful boathouses, the geological story of Cape Vani. Transportation time between stops is built into the nine- to ten-hour total.

Is this one for you? This is a shared boat tour, so you travel with other passengers and eat meals as a group: ideal if you want the social rhythm of a full day on the water and don't want to arrange your own transport between six isolated beaches. The fixed itinerary and nine- to ten-hour commitment suit someone with a full day free and the appetite for multiple swims rather than a quick half-day outing.
