The experience

The catamaran leaves Milos in the morning and heads straight for the volcanic landscape most visitors never reach. Kleftiko, the old pirate bay enclosed by white volcanic rocks, opens up with sea caves you swim into and explore underwater. The water shifts from emerald to green-blue depending on the light and the depth, and the snorkeling here is the centerpiece. You're not watching from a boat, you're in it, mask on, moving through the formations yourself.

Sykia comes next, a natural cave monument surrounded by colorful volcanic rock where you snorkel in crystal-clear water before brunch. The route then crosses to Poliegos, the largest uninhabited island in the Aegean, and stops at Galazia Nera, the Blue Lagoon, a narrow bay with white sand and transparent light blue water that looks almost unreal. By afternoon you're at Gerakas Beach, a sandy stretch framed by geological formations where you swim in a natural hot spring and eat Greek BBQ and traditional food while the view holds steady across the water.
