Summary

Catamaran journey from Milos to Kleftiko with swimming, caves and homemade food

You’ll sail from Milos past colorful fishing villages and dramatic rocks before anchoring near Kleftiko’s legendary caves. Swim in turquoise water, hear pirate tales from your local crew, and relax over a fresh-cooked Greek lunch with wine or beer included. It’s easygoing but full of small moments you’ll remember long after you’re back on land.

experience

What’s the experience like?

"You ever seen water this blue?" That’s what Maria, our guide, asked as we drifted past Firopotamos Beach. I just shook my head — it was early but the sun already bounced off those colored boathouses like someone had painted them on for tourists. The air smelled faintly salty and sweet, maybe from the fruit they’d just started slicing behind us. I don’t know if it was nerves or excitement but I kept fiddling with my snorkel mask even before we stopped.

The first swim stop hit different than I expected — cold at first but then you just float there, looking up at these wild rock shapes. Someone said that’s Cape Vani. Our captain told stories about pirates hiding out in these caves (he swears some of them are true). The crew handed out granola bowls and coffee right after we climbed back on board — honestly, eating Greek yogurt while still dripping wet felt weirdly perfect. There was this moment of quiet when everyone just stared at the cliffs; nobody said much, which I liked.

At Kleftiko itself, the water turned this almost unreal green-blue. We swam through one of the caves (I scraped my knee a bit — totally worth it) and when we came out on the other side, Maria waved us over for lunch. Chicken with vegetables cooked right there on the boat, plus Greek salad and tabbouleh. The bread was still warm somehow? I tried to ask how you say “thank you” in Greek — got it wrong twice but made everyone laugh. By then the sun was lower and everything looked softer; I still think about that light sometimes when I’m stuck at home.
