The experience

You step off the bus in Delphi after a scenic drive from Athens, with mountains rising all around the ancient site. At the site you use a VR device with multilingual commentary, and once you switch it on by the Omphalos stone, it feels like time folds over itself. You can actually “see” what the sanctuary looked like centuries ago while you’re standing right there: the columns rising up where now there’s just sun and stone.
