A beginner scuba diving class in Chania with a certified instructor, small group and three hours total including theory, equipment setup and underwater practice. You'll learn essential diving skills and safety protocols before descending, then spend about 45 minutes underwater with your guide watching over you. After the dive, you receive photos and a recognition card.

The experience

You start at the dive center, where your instructor walks you through the theory behind safe diving and how to use the equipment. The session covers the essentials: how to breathe underwater, how to equalize pressure, and what to do if something goes wrong. Once you understand the basics, your instructor helps you pick gear that fits properly (wetsuit, tank, weights, mask and fins), then you head to the beach together to gear up and enter the water.

The dive itself lasts about 45 minutes. Your instructor stays with you the entire time, demonstrating skills step-by-step and watching as you practice them underwater. You're not sightseeing. You're learning to move, breathe and respond to your body's signals in a new environment, with someone experienced right there. The group stays small so the instructor can give you real attention instead of dividing focus across a crowd.

After you surface and return to the dive center, you get your gear off and head back: either via the pickup that brought you, or on your own if you arranged separate transport. You'll receive photos and video from the dive, plus a recognition card documenting what you've completed. The whole experience runs three hours from start to finish.
