The experience
You pick two complete meals from a menu that includes Jollof rice, fufu with light soup, waakye, banku with okro sauce, red-red beans with fried plantain, and others. The class runs about four and a half hours, and you handle the cooking yourself from start to finish, no demonstration-only format. All the ingredients and cooking utensils are provided, so you arrive ready to work. The instructor shares the history behind each dish and explains which local ingredients can be swapped for what you'll find where you live, so you can replicate the meals at home.
You eat what you cook during the class, then take home two packaged portions. The session includes entertainment (music and games), and you're free to ask anything about Ghanaian culture. If you have allergies, let the outfit know and they'll adjust the ingredients. You can also photograph and video the experience to share.
The class runs on a schedule you choose, and the outfit speaks English throughout. If you want to practice further in their kitchen later, you can book additional time at a reasonable fee. Alternatively, you can skip the cooking lesson and order prepared meals at the same price, or add a market tour to your cooking session depending on which option you select at checkout.
