The experience

You start at Alexanderplatz, where Berlin's TV Tower rises above the square. From there, the group moves together (some pedaling e-bikes, others on scooters or standard bikes, and up to two people settled into the rickshaw) past the Red Town Hall and Marien Church toward Museum Island. The route takes you through the heart of Berlin's divided history. You see Bebelplatz, where 25,000 books burned in 1933, then move to the elegant Gendarmenmarkt with its twin domes. Checkpoint Charlie appears next (the most famous Cold War border crossing) followed by the original Berlin Wall sections and the Topography of Terror documentation center. The memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe and the Brandenburg Gate come into view as the tour moves west, then finishes at the Reichstag and Government District. All ten stops happen in a single journey, with the guide explaining each one as you arrive.
