The experience

You arrive at a fun bike: a six-person vehicle that looks like a bicycle crossed with a conference table, where everyone pedals together but one person steers. Your multilingual guide sits at the helm while you and up to five others power the bike forward at whatever pace feels right. Each rider has their own pedal and freewheel, so you can coast when you need to, and the electric motor kicks in to help when the hill gets steep or the legs get tired. This is not a stationary tour watched from a seat. You're moving the vehicle itself.

The route depends on which tour you book. The Short sightseeing tour covers the essentials in an hour: the Reichstag, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Topography of Terror with a section of the Berlin Wall, and Museum Island. The Historic Centre Tour adds Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmenmarkt and Unter den Linden, Berlin's most famous street. The Tiergarten Park Tour crosses the city's largest park, a former royal hunting ground, with stops at the Brandenburg Gate and Alexanderplatz. The Wall of Berlin Tour focuses on Cold War history: the Berlin Wall itself, the GDR Watch Tower, and Checkpoint Charlie. The Highlights of Berlin Tour (2 hours) strings together the major sites: the Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten, Museum Island, Potsdamer Platz with its remaining wall fragments, and the Reichstag. At each stop, your guide explains the history and meaning of the place while you take photos.

Pickup is included within one kilometer of the Brandenburg Gate, so you don't need to navigate to a meeting point. If you want, you can play your own music through the bike's Bluetooth speakers during the ride. Non-alcoholic drinks (water, soft drinks, apple spritzer) are available on request during the tour.
