The experience

The evening starts when you meet your host and fellow travelers at a central Tbilisi location, then head to one of the city's top-rated Georgian restaurants. You'll sit at shared tables instead of alone. The setup is deliberate, designed so that by the time the dancers take the floor, you're already talking to people from other countries. Even if you arrive knowing no one, the arrangement itself does the work of breaking the ice.

The food arrives as the performance begins. You get khachapuri (Georgian cheese bread), pkhali (vegetable spreads with walnuts), lobio (beans), fresh seasonal salad, shoti bread, assorted Georgian cheeses, and eggplant rolls with walnuts. A half-liter of premium homemade wine comes with it, along with water and limonade. Professional dancers perform traditional Georgian folk dances while you eat: the kind of movement and energy that makes sitting still difficult for long. Later, the floor opens and guests are invited to join. The music shifts between Georgian and international songs, so you're not forced into unfamiliar steps if you don't want them.

The whole thing runs about four hours. If you book the all-inclusive option, hotel pickup and drop-off are included. The standard option means you meet at the restaurant itself. A guide is present throughout and speaks English or Russian. Public transportation stops are nearby if you prefer to make your own way.
