The experience
The tour opens with airport pickup and a Tbilisi walking tour the same evening, starting at 5:15 PM. You'll walk through the Old Town's narrow streets and wooden balconies, see Narikala Fortress overlooking the Mtkvari River, visit Metekhi Church, and pass the Sulphur Baths in the Abanotubani district. The Bridge of Peace and Rike Park round out the city stops, along with the Kartlis Deda monument on Sololaki hill and the Rezo Gabriadze clock tower with its hourly angel.
Day two takes you north into the Caucasus Mountains. Pickup is at 8:15 AM for the drive along the Georgian Military Highway, stopping at Jinvali Reservoir for photos of the blue water between three mountain ranges, then Ananuri Fortress (16th–18th century) overlooking the Aragvi River. Before lunch you can choose rafting or skip it. Lunch is homemade Georgian food including khinkali. In Gudauri you have the option to try paragliding (extra cost, roughly $100). You'll overnight in either Kazbegi or Gudauri.
Day three is a hiking day from Kazbegi. You visit Gveleti and Juta (Juta is accessible only in summer). The return journey to Tbilisi leaves at 7 PM and arrives around 11 PM. Day four focuses on the Kakheti wine region: pickup at 10:15 AM, a visit to Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking Factory where you taste five types of Georgian wine and 10-year-old brandy, then the Monastery of St. Nino in Bodbe, and the town of Sighnaghi with its restored cobbled streets and red-tile houses. Dinner is at Kusika restaurant before the drive back to Tbilisi, arriving around 5–6 PM. On your final day, transfer to the airport at a time that suits you.

Top questions
What's the Gergeti Trinity Church like when you get there?
Gergeti Trinity Church sits at 2,170 meters on the slope of Mount Kazbegi, built in the 14th century. From the church you get a panoramic view of the whole valley and Mount Kazbegi itself, which rises to 5,047 meters. The church is the most isolated and iconic tourist site in Georgia, and you reach it by renting a 4WD car from Kazbegi village (5–7 USD per person) to drive up the mountain.
How much time do you spend in each region?
Tbilisi gets the first evening and part of day four for the wine region trip. The Caucasus Mountains take up the full second day and the hiking portion of day three, with an overnight stay. Kakheti occupies the fourth day from 10:15 AM until the evening return to Tbilisi around 5–6 PM.
Can you visit Juta in winter?
Juta is accessible only in summer. In winter the hiking day visits Gveleti instead.
What wine do you taste at the factory?
Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking Factory offers tastings of five types of Georgian wine and 10-year-old brandy. Their signature wine is Chkhaveri, a white dry wine with roots in the village of Askana dating back to 1880.
Does the tour include meals?
Lunch on day two is included and features homemade traditional Georgian dishes, including khinkali. Dinner on day four is a traditional Georgian meal at Kusika restaurant in Sighnaghi. Other meals are not included in the price.
