The experience

You're on Moorea with a free afternoon and no rental car. This is the way to cover ground and see the island's interior without driving yourself. You pick up a quad bike (solo or two-seater, your choice at checkout), get a helmet and a briefing, then ride out into the valleys where pineapple fields and agricultural plantations fill the landscape. The paths wind through working farmland, not manicured trails, so you're moving through the actual terrain where the island grows its food.

The ride takes you to Belvèdere for the view (Cook Bay and Opunohu Bay both open up from there), then down to the Lycée Agricole, the agricultural school where you stop to taste homemade jams and fresh local fruit juices made on-site. It's a real tasting, not a shop visit, and it breaks up the riding with something you can't get anywhere else on the island. The whole outing runs two and a half hours from start to finish, including the stops and the ride back.

The guide handles the route and takes photos during the tour that you can download free afterward. You get bottled water and light rain gear in case the weather turns, plus a drink when you finish. A valid driver's license is required, and you need to be at least 18 to ride solo. If you book the two-seater, a passenger can be younger (minimum age five) and ride along.
