The experience
The workshop starts at the farm where Rozelieures grows its barley, then moves into the brewery and the still room to see how single malt whiskey gets made from grain to glass. You'll walk through an aging cellar where the whiskeys mature, and watch a sound and light show at the distillery itself. The sequence moves from raw material to finished product, so by the time you reach the tasting you understand what you're drinking.
Five whiskeys come to the table for tasting, and then you move into the blending phase. The guide walks you through how to combine different whiskeys to create a flavor profile you actually want, and you assemble your own bottle right there. You leave with what you made, labeled as yours: a 20cl or 70cl bottle depending on which option you picked at checkout. Most people use it to show friends what they learned, or keep it as a souvenir of the afternoon.
The distillery is wheelchair accessible throughout, and service animals are welcome. The minimum age is 18. A live guide leads the whole session in either English or French, and the group stays small enough that you get real attention during the tasting and blending.
