The Experience

The driver picks you up from your hotel in Aix around 8am, and within twenty minutes you're leaving the city behind for the Côtes de Provence St-Victoire region. The first winery comes into view — which one depends on the day and what's open, but your guide handles that. You walk through the cellar, taste two wines, ask questions if you want them answered, and then you're back in the minibus heading toward lunch. It's not rushed, but it's not lingering either. By midday you're back in Aix for a quick snack before the afternoon half starts.

After the break, the Luberon villages are where the day opens up. Lourmarin comes first — a proper Provençal town with plane trees and a castle, and you get free time to walk, sit at a café, or just look at how the light hits the stone. Roussillon is next, famous for its ochre cliffs and the way the whole village glows orange-red in the afternoon sun. Your guide points out the photo spots, but the time is yours. Then there's a photo stop somewhere between villages (the exact place shifts), and finally Gordes, perched on a hilltop with views that stretch across the valley.
