The Experience

Claudia and Anthony started the No Diet Club in London, then Paris, and now Nice—where Anthony grew up. They know the difference between what tourists eat and what Niçois actually eat, and the tour moves through the city hitting the real spots. You'll taste pan bagnat (the sandwich that defines the city), socca (a savory chickpea crêpe cooked on the street), the traditional farçis niçois (vegetables stuffed with meat and herbs), pissaladière (the local answer to pizza), and artisanal macarons made with flavors like lemon from Menton and roses from Grasse. The tour finishes with what they call the best Italian ice cream in the city.

All the food is included in the price; water is free, but other drinks cost extra. The guides also teach you some Nissart—the local dialect—so you can actually read the menus and talk to the people behind the counter. Vegetarians are welcome and the pace works for all fitness levels. Children from age 2 can come, and if you have a stroller, that works too.

Top questions

What exactly is pan bagnat and why is it such a big deal in Nice?

Pan bagnat is a Niçoise sandwich made with bread, tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, anchovies, olives and olive oil—it's what locals eat for lunch, not what you find in tourist restaurants. The tour includes a proper one from a place the guides actually eat at.

How long does the food tasting tour take and what's the schedule?

The tour runs 3.5 hours and moves through the city hitting multiple stops where you taste each dish. The guides lead in either English or French, and you can book the standard Unique Local Food option or the Nice été 2026 version at checkout.

Are there options for people who don't eat meat or have dietary restrictions?

Vegetarians are welcome on the tour. If you have specific dietary needs beyond that, reach out to the guides directly before booking so they can plan the stops around what you can eat.

Can I bring my young children on this food tour?

Children are welcome from age 2 and up. Infants can come too if they sit on an adult's lap, and if you need a stroller or pram, that's fine—the tour moves at a pace that works for families.

What's included in the price and what costs extra?

All the food tastings are included: pan bagnat, socca, farçis niçois, pissaladière, macarons, ice cream and more. Water is free. Alcoholic beverages and other drinks are extra and you can buy them as you go.

Do the guides teach you anything besides where to eat?

Yes—Claudia and Anthony include a Nissart lesson so you learn the local dialect and can actually read menus and chat with the people running the food stalls. It's part of eating like a real Niçois.
