Step-by-step itinerary

Caviar farm visit and tasting class

  • Meet guide at Caviar De Neuvic
  • Visit fish farm and learn caviar production
  • Try to catch a sturgeon by hand
  • Attend caviar master class tasting
  • Taste four types of caviar with drinks

The experience

The farm visit lasts around 75 minutes. Your guide walks you through the estate, explaining how sturgeons are bred and how caviar is produced on-site. You see the fish pools and the production process up close, and you can ask questions as you go. The unusual part comes next: up to four volunteers at a time can try to catch a sturgeon by hand in the visitor pool. A moment worth photographing. The tour runs in rain or shine, so bring boots and an umbrella if the weather turns.

After the farm, you move to the shop in the square for the caviar master class. This tasting includes four spoons of each caviar type (Signature Baeri, Réserve, Oscietra and Beluga) plus one toast of caviar butter made at the estate. A glass of sparkling wine and a shot of vodka come with the tasting. By the end, caviar will have no secrets left.
