The Experience
The tour starts in Old Lyon, where you'll see the Saint-Jean Cathedral before climbing toward Fourvière. The e-bikes do the heavy lifting on the steep sections—you control how much assistance you need, so the pace stays comfortable even on the two hills the tour is built around. Your guide explains the city's layout as you ride, pointing out a private garden with views over Lyon, then the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, where you have time to step inside and look around.
From there, you'll reach the Ancient Theatre of Fourvière, where Lyon was founded as Lugdunum over 2,000 years ago. Your guide walks you through that history before you cross the Saône and climb Croix-Rousse hill, famous for the silk industry that shaped the city. The guide covers that story too—what the looms were, how the work happened, why this neighbourhood mattered. You get a final view over Lyon from the top, then finish at Terreaux Square, where the City Hall, the Fine Arts Museum and a fountain by the French architect Bartholdi sit side by side.
Two hours is the full duration, and the route covers both major hills without requiring you to walk or push the bike. The e-bikes come with baskets, so you can carry a camera or a light jacket. Helmets and raincoats are provided. The tour runs in English and French at the same time, so your guide speaks both languages as you ride.

How steep are the hills on this e-bike tour?
The tour covers two hills—Croix-Rousse and Fourvière—which is why the e-bikes are essential. The adjustable assistance lets you match the boost to your energy, so steep climbs stay manageable without exhausting you.
Do I need to have ridden an e-bike before?
No. The e-bikes are as simple to ride as a regular bike, just with a motor that gives you a boost when you need it. You control the assistance level to match your pace.
What will I learn about Croix-Rousse?
Croix-Rousse hill is famous for the silk industry that built Lyon's wealth. Your guide explains the history of the looms and the work that happened there, and you get a final view over the city from the top.
What's included in the tour price?
The e-bike with basket, helmet, and raincoat (if needed) are all included. The guide is live and speaks English and French.
Is this tour suitable for someone who's not very fit?
The tour requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness, though the e-bike assistance makes the hills much easier than they would be on a regular bike. You control how much help the motor gives you.
